Last Lecture

WOW, the semester is over. I have learned so much in this class. In my last blog, we were asked to give out "last lecture". If I had one final lecture to share with a group, it would be the following.

We must decided early on what kind of person you want to be. What do you want your code of conduct to be? What moral compass will you use? And finally, "Who am I" and "Who do I want to become." Two very important questions that we should ask ourselves on a regular basis. The answers will change over time as you grow into the person that you strive to be. I may not know exactly what I want to become at this point, but that is part of the journey that we go through. The key is to believe in yourself and always dream big and take risks.

Create your own Personal constitution. Create goals both long term and short term and list how you are going to execute those goals. Create a Stars and Steppingstonges chart to help you along your journey. And lastly, create your personal code of conduct. This will help shape you into the person you want to become.

Entrepreneurship is a journey and will have many successes and many failures. But as someone once said, "what really defines you is getting back up and keep moving." No matter how hard things can get, there is always a plateau ahead of us that will help us realize that we are progressing, even if we do not see it in the moment.

Don't be afraid to dream big. Take your idea's and turn them into something that you are passionate about. "You are only limited by what you think you can do." You must use your strengths to try harder to accomplish your dreams. Sometimes the risks will take you in the right direction.

Have a healthy work/life balance. Our career will always be there waiting for us. The people in our life may not always be there. We must take the time we have with our loved ones to be happy and have adventures. Be mindful to not miss those simple moments with those you love. Go to the soccer game, or dance recital. Your children will always remember that you were there for them. Don't allow your work life to over taken your family life.

I am not sure if I will ever run my own business or make a huge impact on the world. But I know where I need to start and how to become the person that I want to be.

Be happy and do what you love. There is nothing worse then working in a job that you hate and that make you miserable. Sometimes you have the take the risks and go out side of your comfort zone. to do what makes you happy. With the Lord by your side he will guide you in the direction you need to be.
