Leadership with a small "L"
President
Kim B. Clark of Brigham Young University–Idaho for their commencement on
December 14, 2007 gave a great talk about leadership with a small
"l". Leadership it role that has shaped the world. Many have
taken up its mantle and left their mark on history. To be that type of
great leader you have to
- Lead by
example
- Lead with
Vision
- Lead with
Love.
I strive
to lead this way today and every day. It is not always easy, but it is
something that I work towards every day. I feel like the third principle is the
most important. When you show people that you care, it means that you are
strive to lift them higher and are doing more for them, than just using them
for you own selfish means. Leadership will always be about others and a
great leader puts much attention towards that.
I have
learned so much in the last 8 weeks. This class has taught me so much about
what kind of leader I want to be. I've learned so many different ways of
running a business and so many of them I have taken to heart and hope one day I
will be doing.
