Stars & Steppingstones

This week we took a hard look at what we want to do when we grow up. This was difficult for me, because I feel like I never took the time to actually figure it out. But it was good to sit down and think about what I have done in my life and where I want my career to go. We were able to chart out our steps and our steppingstones that will get us to where we want to me. It was exciting. My favorite quote from the week was:    "Picking your own star involves understanding what is important to you in life, and what is likely to remain important."  This week, we also put together our bucket list. Man it was so hard to think of 50 things... But it was so much fun thinking about all the things I want to do in life. My top three things were: Graduate from BYU-I, take a vacation to Hawaii, and get married in the temple. I really enjoyed listening the the lecture that Randy Pausch gave. WEEK 1 INTRODUCTION

Before today, I never would have considered myself an entrepreneur. When I thought of that word, I thought of someone who owed their own business. Never would I have considered it really meant much more than that. Just during the intro week, I have started to learn what an entrepreneur really is. There was so much great information give this week, and it couldn't come at such a pivotal point in my career. I have taken of a new role within my company that could offer great experience for me. I a little nervous and excited at the same time. But the lessons give this week helped me feel so much better about the situation I am walking into. I am very much looking forward to becoming a better employee and a better entrepreneur. I enjoyed all of the information the videos and readings gave about networking. I have a LinkedIn profile and I know now that I really do not use it to its full advantage. I do not network as much as I should be. That provided great insight on how important it...
